What is /pol/'s opinion on Hoffa? The man that lead teamsters and unions through pretty much through 20's to the 60's.
Labor unions are the single worst thing in the USA. They bankrupt companies, crush local and state budgets and throw literal temper tantrums when they don't get their way.
Never heard of his, Why is he important?
That mythbusters episode singe handedly made me not give a fuck about this guy

You are aware that they don't have that level of power anymore, right? All they do anymore is just protect someone from wrongful termination. Maybe the occasional pay raise, vacation time, and retirement benefits. That's about it, but it depends on your Union.

While imperfect, they are the best way to protect working people. It's a way to empower folks without going full communist, or socialist.

He was a communist agitator and a wannabe mafia boss. Two kinds of scumbag for the price of one.

Still haven't found his body...

These are all greater than what the market, companies, and the government can support. The absurdly high wages/benefits make it cost effective to develop and deploy robots to replace wage earning workers (both union and non-union). The pension packages will bankrupt entire cities and states in the next 20 years.

The federal government has grown powerful enough that unions aren't needed to protect working people. There are a multitude of federal agencies that a capable of this.

Someone was very good at keeping their mouth shut. The Tylenol killer was never found either and never confessed.
Reminder that fascism = unions
You can't badmouth unions, then turn 180 and yell how big of a fascist you are

>turn 180 and yell how big of a fascist you are
is this a common thing in your country?

Fair point. But things like OSHA and the minimum wage, while important, are bare necessities. I think we could do better than that.
