she also picked the name salazar for slytherin's founder purposefully to shit on traditional conservatism. fortunately she was beaten by her based portuguese husband but not hard enough apparently

In my expierience writers tend to try and appear smarter AFTER they get sucessful by going back over thier work and trying to claim they did shit intentionally.
Reality is she probably just chose the name salazar slytherin as the founders name because thier heraldry is a snake, and both those names sound snakey.
Protip, when writing fiction and you decide the future badguys coat of arms is a venemous reptile you fucking suck at foreshadowing. Aww gee! The traitors inside the school were the ones with the snake on thier coat of arms? NO FUCKIN WAY!!!
you know what would have been actually GOOD writing? Having slytherin be assholes for 6 books but not actually evil and having one of the other houses be the traitors.
Maybe ravenclaw gets on this big intellectualism kick where they rationalize themselves into an evil path, maybe hufflepuff is tired of being so fuckin overlooked and finally wants thier time to shine to be now. Maybe even gryffindor falls into hateful arrogance and betrays harry and the gang. Slytherin rises above thier shitty past and overcomes thier inner demons in a suprise turn.
But nnnnooooooooo, were gonna go with the fuckin homebrew tabletop gaming cliche. The guys with the snakey type shit are just gonna be our mary-sue bad guys.
Even putting politics aside harry potter was shit writing. If you read it beyond age 12-14 then you were either developmentally disabled or just reading something easy to get a teacher off your back.

"Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means,
To achieve their ends."
"You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil"
"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind."
--The Sorting Hat
loyal, good people and intellectual nerds don't just collectively turn like that. there are early signs with slytherin, like groups of them bullying other students. not to mention the seedy history of slytherin house. the seeming bad guys were good all along isn't necessarily a fresh, original trope.

i always suspect salazar's name because she lived here, it might not be coincidence
