I travel back and forth frequently & own multiple properties both in US & CZ.
I pay more in property taxes than most make in a year.

Is it true that if you were born in US to Czech parents, that you can request to have dual citizenship and while you live in the U.S., the Czech government will send you money? If so, why would they do this? How does the CZ government benefit from this?

Yes, it takes a long time and you have to go through this process in CZ (being there in person).
>Czech government will send you money
Only if you study in college outside CZ and meet a quota. The monthly payment(stipend) is very little though (not sure how much it is nowadays, but it used to be ~1500 CZK / 75 USD)

1) What's your favourite Czech beer? Mine's probably either Kozel or Plzensky Prazdroj.
2) Which part of Czechia are you from?
3) How'd you make your money?

Rip off the bandaid, IE do it quickly.
Do not procrastinate when it comes to divorce (especially if you're in the US).
Set up an offshore bank account prior to divorce.

1. Good stuff. Great beer.
2. Cool. Never been there but I know it's the second biggest city. Would be cool to go there.
3. I see. That's pretty cool.

4th question if you don't mind, how'd you get the US citizenship?

Green card lottery? Or you got a job in the US? Or you married a Murrican?

Basically I was born in Switzerland and coincidentally I also have Swiss heritage. Switzerland doesn't have jus soli citizenship so at this point I only had Brazilian citizenship because my parents were Brazilian.

Later my parents would move to the US, where I would grow up. By 18 I was eligible for citizenship, so then I became Brazilian-American. Before this thought, my Father would apply for Swiss citizenship before I was 18. Our family originally emigrated from Switzerland in 1885 to Brazil, plus my Father worked for many years in a Swiss company and he knew Swiss German, so there was a strong case to obtain citizenship. Once he got it, I automatically inherited it since I was underage when he applied. Then I got all 3 passports.

Came to US on a J-1 visa. Got an office job. Employer sponsored me to get a green card (it took like 4 years, it was a huge pain in the ass). I had to hire an immigration attorney, total cost of all of it was ~6k USD.
If you have a green card, after 10 years you're eligible to become a naturalized US citizen.
Needless to say, it would have been a lot cheaper and faster if I married a US citizen instead.

>>140020867
That's pretty cool. Sounds like your dad had a proper international career then if he was moving your family around a lot.

I knew a kid like that in school. His dad was in the navy which is why he kept moving around.

Obummer did away with dual nationalities except for Israel.
>>
>>140020823
Europe is nice for a 2-week vacation, after that I can't wait to go back to US.
I think it's people's mentality, I believe europeans are like a herd, people in the US come as more sincere & more individualistic.
>>
>>140021330
>Obummer did away with dual nationalities except for Israel.
Not true.
>>
>>140021221
Cultural exchange program? Interesting.

That's cool though.

>>140021531
The US certainly has more freedom. That's the best thing about it in my view. You can do whatever the hell you like.

E.g. conservatives in the US are loud, brash, they don't care what people think - you can even hang a Nazi flag in America and it's all legal. But over here I think that would probably be considered a hate crime. Britain is fucking shite in that respect.
>>
>>140021909
Also, europeans are more materialistic in my view, more fashion oriented, looks & status mean everything.
Americans are more like "whatever, I don't care, as long as I'm comfy!"
>>
>>140022369
Hm. I dunno. I think there are just as many of each in both the US and Europe. Americans are perfectly capable of being materialistic (you could even say they pioneered it), and I would say just as many of them are status oriented.

But I think I know what you mean... I would probably say Americans are perhaps more self-assured. Probably comes with the fact that they have more open space and more freedom. Freedom to go and do what you like.
>>
>>140022369
Lol what? You're as fake as one can be with each other and you love money.

Very true. It even manifests in details like size of homes/apartments, cars, roads, stores etc. which are at least 1 size bigger in the US.
I miss the old european architecture though, like castles, cathedrals, bridges and oldtown squares.

its overpopulated as fuck here

if you dont count national parks, its village right next to another village, city right next to another city

no free space at all
>>
>>140024824
its not like you can go out and build a log cabin, make a living hunting anymore. the space is nice but theres still more nature here than anyone needs
>>
>>140024824
>its overpopulated as fuck here
Correct. The europe is way too crowded and everything bad that comes with it, ie. noise, pollution, bad air, commie blocks, horrendous traffic (well US has it's fair share of this, but only if you live in a big city, which I thankfully don't).
Even the national parks in Europe are crowded, at least compared to most US national parks.
>>
Burger in Europe here- the US has, literally, 40 million niggers. That's the end of any conversation. There is no debating about how crowded parks are or how attitudes can be different-

40

million

niggers.

Czechia is a shitty country, but again- 40 million niggers.
>>
>>140017220
Have been to Prague. Loved it. Me and wife thinking of leaving the U.S. and moving there or close by. Will we be welcome? Is Czechoslovakia still comfy? Prosím!
>>
>>140026720
Niggers here are contained in cities & their containment zones like Miss., Louisiana, Alabama etc.
If you live outside of their habitats you hardly ever see one.

Yeah exactly. That's why I'd love to move there. Bigger houses, but also more spaced out, and with lots of space to expand into / build new houses in.

>I miss the old european architecture though, like castles, cathedrals, bridges and oldtown squares.
True. If Europe doesn't defend itself though then that stuff is gonna start disappearing. This last week, some non-white said in the media that we should take down Nelson's column (pic related) because he was a "white supremacist". Which makes no sense because the main people he fought and killed were EUROPEANS in the Napoleonic wars.

But yes you're right, we've got more of that in Europe, although America does have their fair share of relatively old buildings - mostly in New England and that sort of area, of course. Georgian townhouses, colleges, that sort of thing. Also The Capitol Building is pretty old and it's a pretty cool building.

Most czechs have a secret love affair with Americans (they like to denounce the US culture though, mostly because of whay they see in the media).
You won't have a problem fitting in.
I would choose a different place to relocate to rater than Prague; it's great to visit but it gets old quickly.
>>
>>140019627
Damn. I used to have dual citizenship too.
BR/SWE but I had to travel to Brazil around christmas and enlist myself for military service or pay a 2000 dollar fine.
I never went back and I don't know what's gonna happen if I do.
