The Germans were one of the only European people whom actually got quite along with the Chinese. The Chinese Nationalists had a bunch of German military advisors which aided the restoration of their army. Sadly enough Japan pressured the German officers into abandoning China. History would've been a lot different if Japan/Germany worked for either Qing restoration or aid the Chinese nationalists in beating Mao.

The only chinese person I ever talked to was an exchange student at my university. Was extremely weird to talk to him. His whole behavior made him look like an extraterrestrial to us. After talking to him for about 30 minutes I realized that his general knowledge was close to zero. He knew absolutely nothing about history, geography, politics..... outside china.
