To be fair, Military was appealing at first, but with my bad knees, it's no real use now. Besides, in Germany, so much has changed that I wouldn't see any benefit fighting for a country that has nothing but utter contempt for the people and actively tries to censor part of the news.

The Money? You do get paid pretty okay-ish, atleast here in Germany. Easily you can life off of that, and if you're willing to conscript into a dangerous zone, the paycheck afterwards is pretty hefty. Though potential loss of life isn't really making that worth in my opinion.

Being yelled at in bootcamp and drinking like a sailor afterwards? Sure sounds like fun, still, since I'm not really that much of a drinker, not that much use to me.

The only thing that now would appeal to me is the toolset and knowledge you obtain from going through your service time. Can come in handy, the training will be a general boon and you stay that way since once you're in the miliary, you'll usually stick with that orderly way of living and keep on training.

For me though, I'm just not made for the military

I will say that USAF "traditions" leave a lot to be desired.

The USAF should be folded back into the Army because 80% of the jobs can be done by the Army without any special training (Engineering, IT, food, police, fire, supply, etc.)

I applied for GSO 2 yrs after coming to Aus(E. European). Then I had to wait 2 more to be eligible for citizenship(passed the tests so they just paused it)After that they just called me one day(had to send them one more document which I got a few days after so they waited for that) and told me I HAVE to be a citizen to join.
