The funny thing is gamer gate goes back further than many know. Back when the PS2 first came out a game called Driver 3 came out and was shit. But game journalists said it was good. Gamers when they got the game found out it wasn't. They became vocal online on forums. The publisher of the game strongarmed all the game forum site to delete all criticism of the game. Sad part is it worked, and the whole thing just faded away.
