/b/ used to have lots of pro-atheist & and anti-religion posts but there was tonnes of racism and every other *ism the left cries about. People posted lots of shit about Bush (then McCain & Palin) but a lot of it was about religion and the thought of 'moral majority' types censoring stuff rather than an actual support for left wing politics.

To be fair 4chan was never really far left though, O'Reily just wanted to paint it as such to try and make yet another hit piece.

4chan only openly became far right first as an aggregate for libertarian talking points, which isn't bizarre considering the anonymity and allowance of vulgarity that makes the site essential and special is rooted in that principal.

Then as the far left exploded into the mainstream emboldened by the election of Obama, it grew to represent the antithesis of that as it felt threatened by the policing of culture.

4chan will always be rightist as it expressively promotes the individuals right to free speech, something that even the Nazi posters tend to argue for. Since the sites culture is rooted into free speech, it will remain rightist as a survival mechanism, because the site will die once policing of tone rather than topic is introduced.
