This has been pointed out time and time again:
The "richest 1%" have armies of tax attorneys and CPA's that navigate around and through the loopholes to pay a lot less than the advertised top tax rate (think Mark Kikenberg). By eliminating the loopholes, even if the "top tax rate" is lower, their effective tax rate will be higher and you eliminate a whole lot of complicated tax code in the process.

Rural white voter here. Voting for Trump was possibly the biggest mistake of my life. Probably the worst president we've had in the last 250 years. We must impeach him now and lock up his most fervent supporters. The travel ban is racist and the white house is literally full of islamophobic texts and art. Hate can only be defeated by destroying it from the top down.

On top of his blatant racism, now he is literally destroying the planet earth and ruining young and promising female entertainers' lives. What about our children? Do the right thing, fellow rural white voters. Call your senator or congressman and set things right.

>OP doesn't understand how this graph works

Lowest 20% making 18k a year has a taxable income of about 12k which means they pay about $1600 in taxes - their earned income credit.

Top 1% earns 390k has a taxible income of 385k with an effective tax rate of 27% and pays 101k in taxes.

If trump cuts the lowest tax rate in half they would pay $800 a year - earned income credit. This savings multiplied by 55(trumps proposed tax cut for the top 1% is 55 times larger than the tax cut the poorest 20% make) would equal 44,000 while cutting their taxes in half would equal 50,500. Which means that the poor get a greater relative tax cut compared to the wealthiest 1%.

Yea, and putting 30 million people on welfare who are to this day still on welfare. And the whole social justice issue.

Woodrow Wilson left a recession when Warren Harding took office as president in the 1920s. Unemployment was at around 11%. Harding did nothing but cut spending and taxes. In two years, unemployment went down from 11% to 2%.

Bush Jr. fucked up by lowering interest rates in the 2001 recession, but this recession shouldn't take eight years to solve. It should take much less than that.

The Great Depression had the same issue. There was no recession when Coolidge was president. Unemployment was virtually non-existent. And he did nothin also. When Hoover came and the stock market crashed. The Smoot-Harley Tariff, the Davis-Bacon Act, Social Security programs under Roosevelt and others led to high unemployment in the 1930s. If Coolidge was still president, or if Hoover and Roosevelt learned from Coolidge, the Stock Market crash would have ended in less than a year's time and the Depression would have never happened.

Thank god. Rich people shouldn't be penalized for being wealthy.
>>
>>139873184

it's dumb because there are clearly different economic strategies for different times.

in a depressed and stagnant economy, with everyone clutching their purse strings and the rich feeling like they have a lot to lose... trickle down can get things goingl

in an economy where the rich are fucking rich... profits abound... and we're really trying to boost the 99%... cut THEIR taxes... they will spend more and it will trickle UP to the wealthy as they compete to EARN the extra profit that is out there.
>>
>>139883627
They always play with the presentation of the numbers until they get a result worthy of a clickbait title. Under a progressive taxation system the bottom rungs of the ladder are going to be contributing a significantly smaller piece of the pie, if the top 5% are paying 60% of the tax bill any deduction is going to disproportionately favor them, that's just basic math, short of going for a full wealth redistribution plan you couldn't write a tax cut that would favor the lower classes, hell Trump's outright eliminates taxes for much of the lower class and it only comes out to like 10% of the total. I'm also a little annoyed because the Democrats and the left in general has not in the last 20 years proposed a tax plan that would actually impact the super wealthy, instead they always want income and payroll taxes, basically they target skilled professionals while people like Mitt Romney and Bernie Sanders pay half the tax rate of a doctor or a lawyer making a few hundred grand per year.
>>
>>139885452
Youre going to have tons more walking around spending money under trump's tax cut comparatively
dont let these idiots get you down anon they are just foreigners being paid to shill because they are all paying 40+% tax rates to their european slave masters

>I think you turned into a bastard when you got richer, and started to drive your "friends" away. I think this because i've seen it happen.

actually, i was extremely generous in the beginning. hell i was giving 1 friend over 600$ a week for a bit. it started to get to where it was expected of me. and i finally had to cut everybody off because I got married and wanted to save for a house. the money well dried up, they stopped coming around or even talking to me. my best friend hasn't talked to me in 2 years. i never changed my personality nor have i forgotten the white trash trailer i came from.

so fuck you and your ignorant generalizations.

>>
>>139872450
I've seen this BS before. As I recall, this is based on an exponential scale on the y-axis, with the left marks going from like a few thousand in savings to literally millions maybe 10 notches up.

Of fucking course the graph is going to be massively skewed to one side when the top 1% makes millions-billions, compared to 10-20k on the bottom.

Let's say that a flat 10% tax cut goes through (for the sake of simple math; it remains to be seen whether congress will actually manage to get anything close to Trump's proposed 3 bracket plan) for each tax class, and let's say the bottom class makes 10-20k, middle class 40-70k, and top 1% making anywhere from 100k to a gorillion buxTM/yr.

>Middle of the bottom class (15k/yr) would have 1500 in additional tax savings

>Middle of middle class (55k/yr) would have 5.5k in additional tax savings

>Bottom of top 1% (assuming 100k is bottom) would save additional 10k
>1M = 100k tax savings
>5M = 500k tax savings
>100M = 10 Million tax savings
>1B = 100 Million tax savings

>Comparing 100k to tens of millions of dollars to 1500

This is a fucking garbage post and you deserve the finest zyklon, kike.

Or are you going to move the goalposts from the original proposition?
>>
>>139890071
Look at how many fucking people are still on welfare by the end of his presidency. That's ridiculous. I'm not moving goalposts; I'm asserting the same points I made before. He put a ton of people on food stamps and the major Bulk of them are still on there. This should have never happened.
>>
>>139890424
So you are moving the goalposts. I see.

>i'm not moving the goalposts

>>
>>139890819
Yea, I said 30 million, which I admitted was an exaggeration because I forgot the exact number. And again, you're still ignoring a chunk of the graphs because he put close to 20 million people on welfare within the other four years after the recession.

This economy could have been recovered without the use of food stamps or welfare.
>>
>>139872450
Who has a 1% INCOME?
Idiots who have their jobs give them a salary just shy of $400k instead of capital investments.

The vast majority of the US wealthy """1%""" have their fortunes diversified in stock, shares, bonds and property. I.e. investments. There are no 1% who have even a sizable fraction of their wealth in cash.
