I occasionally see ads on TV urging people to invest in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and some people scoff at the idea.

After some research and after hearing some of the things my business professors have said, it's really not a bad idea.

They're fledgling countries who are militarily neutral in foreign affairs. Their governments are totalitarian, but stable and they have HUGE natural gas reserves.

While it may seem funny to some, it's not a bad idea to invest in gas firms in those two countries.

They're pretty decent states with an alright standard of living since they have a lot of land and plenty of resources to exploit for economic benefit. But they lack the capitalistic opportunity to achieve further economic growth. Lack of routes internally to deliver goods and the lack of markets to sell them from.
