I mined about 30 btc when they were new, cause I'd participated in folding@home for years prior. When the price rose to about $100 per, I sold them all, fixed up my house, put some money down on a new car, got a new job, and mined some more. Only got about 3 more after that despite mining for an exceptionally long period of time, but I'm about to sell them tonight. Should be cool.

cashless currency is a trap
bitcoins are just to get us used to the idea that cashless currency is a thing that works

eventually the state will simply be able to turn off your ability to buy and sell with the flick of a button on a screen. think chinas sesame credit, you could be hurt in the wallet for even being friends with or related to someone who has ever said anything against the government.

it's ultimate control

If you truly want to make an investment and worried shit will hit the fan, gold and silver are the wrong currencies. You'll want to invest in lead and brass.

5.56 could be ~=$15
7.62 could be ~=$10
Or something like that.
>>
Okay the answer is simple then, keep your long-term investments in Bitcoin (or gold) and a short-term supply in cash.

It's not like you could use your Charles Schwab IRA money during a hurricane either.

Also: look into Bitcoin Cash. It's not as big as BTC yet but it follows Satishi's vision more closely.

dude, the powers that be will just create a new cashless currency they can control and then make you use it or you lose the ability buy and sell. period.

i'm not saying bitcoin itself is the threat, i think bitcoin is gonna moon this year and is overall a pretty safe investment this year. it's cashless currency in general and the direction the powers that be have already admitted they want to take it.

did you know the rothschilds have been working on a cashless global currency for years? they've even admitted it in mainstream media interviews. but hey, whatever.

I made over 20k thanks to crypto, from a capital of aboit 2.5k.

I almost recovered my capital so even if my crypto loses 90%, it is still a profit for me.

Of course its prices varies a lot and you gain a loss a lot, but I accept the risk and I can afford a loss.

It happens this risk is being very profitable to me and I have nothing to lose anymore, because I have all my capital.

You can be poor if you want and depend on banks and jews. Not my problem.

The correct currency is having skills that people need. That's it.

But if you making money off Bitcoin now and improving your skills, that's the best case scenario.

>>139815520
Yes skills and knowledge are very important.
I still think bullets will be a main form of trade, with all the killing and all. Myself I have invested in learning how to make power off grid. All the way down to making batteries. When i master that I will likely move on to making pure sine inverters. I figure if i can learn to make the charge controller, the battery and the inverter I can make a lot of wealth in the future when no one has power. Don't think its possible to make your own solar panels outside of repairing broken waifers. I could also learn to build and wind up permanent magnet alternators for other forms of power.

If it is a localized disaster, bitcoin is a perfect currency to have. Like imagine Yellowstone goes off, North America would be fucked and the value of the Dollar would be in the toilet. If you had a stash of bitcoin, you could convert it into anything and attempt starting a new life elsewhere.

Kek if you're too retarded to set redundancies to your keys you are going to be too retarded to survive any bad situation, flood, fire or otherwise.

My debit cards work. Do yours?

Value = rare, global consensus of rules, impossible to forge, virtually impossible to hack without expending gigawatts of electricity in 10m intervals through expensive ASIC hardware to encrypt/decrypt transactions, can't be inflated arbitrarily because unelected bureaucrats say so, universal fiat onramp for cryptocurrency industry creating additional utility through innovation (i.e. Ethereum and steem)

As I said, if you can't find any value in the list above, you are by definition retarded in terms of understanding currency and market forces.

Without an electrical load nuclear plants overheat and kaboom. The amount of electricity needed to keep them cool even in complete "shutdown" (not actually possible) is plenty for wifi and basic crypto functionality.

But that's besides the point, because literally no one buys bitcoin for shtf. I've got a nice stack of btc, but I've also got a nice stack of semiprecious metals (brass + lead + functional steel and aluminum ;) ) and a year of food supply at my family farm that also has chickens and fruit trees and berry bushes and a vegetable garden.

Shtf is never going to happen like you guys think. If it does, NOTHING will matter except being the hardest, most savage, most cunning manipulative killing machine possible

>Kek if you're too retarded to set redundancies to your keys you are going to be too retarded to survive any bad situation, flood, fire or otherwise.

How would you like me to access my other copies of my wallet when there's no electricity or internet?

How does adding this improve on cash?

>My debit cards work. Do yours?

Yes the supermarket luckily accepts USD. It sadly hasnt accepted Bitcoin.

Oh and then you went and spammed all the features of bitcoin that are applicable to any currency.

When was the last time you couldnt buy food because USD werent rare? Or werent guaranteed non forged?

>can't be inflated arbitrarily because unelected bureaucrats say so

So during a flood your plan is to convert your BTC (if you could, which you cant) to a currency that is not tied to the USD (which dont exist) and then buy those Fictionally Currencies and then trade them in the US (with a currency that isnt tied to the USD)?

>universal fiat onramp for cryptocurrency industry creating additional utility through innovation (i.e. Ethereum and steem)

You mean "if/then" functions require a currency? The Eth cant work with USD?

I think you're confused, you're trying to sell the Blockchain, nobody was discussing that, we're discussing Bitcoin, please keep up tulipmania spruiker.

ISIS is not an example of collapsed society you fucking dullard. ISIS is a functional government that collects taxes and has a standing army.

How the fuck could Bitcoin Cash follow his vision more closely when he wrote the damn code for bitcoin and mined the first bitcoins with it?!?!?

Frankly senpai, learning how to navigate, life off the land, basically living in some sort of network like a rural community out in the Ozarks would give you a gud chance. Network of people who have each others' back > pieces of metal which can be stolen from you without a state (artificial social contract version of network of ppl who have ur back)

Honestly this thread is filled with people that missed the greatest oppertunity to get stupid wealthy in likely their entire lives.

Bitcoin was the thing the old banker jews and Rothschilde of the world didn't see coming, the nerdy invention that that if you bought literally $100 worth of it in 2009... you would be a multi-millionaire to the tune of 15-20Million.

I don't care if you can pick the next apple company. You're never EVER going to get another opportunity like that in your lives again.

Gold is only backed by 1/92nd of the amount of gold that exists on paper.

That is assuming one never sold earlier, and with how volatile the value have been the entire lifespan of Bitcoin I seriously doubt that anyone who bought in when they were worth dirt still has those same coins today to sell at over $4k+ each. I mined a bunch of coins in the early days, sold them all the second time the prices went over $100 because of how quick the first big surge and crash were.

Do you think it's too late to get into Bitcoin now?

I had a chance to buy $50 back in 2011 and didn't do it. Been kicking myself ever since. I bought $200 of Bitcoin a few days ago and already making money off it, but I am hoping it goes down to at least 3k again so I can just dump a few grand into it and make bigger gains later.

Why do people think gold will be valuable when societal collapse happens? Like saving in that for the downfall will do anything.

>Hey, you have medicine, fuel, and food
>I-I got some gold
>D-d you need any gold?

What the fuck are they supposed to do with gold when everything is falling the fuck apart?

I mean you could have had millions of your precious Jew paper if you had just listened to me when I told you to invest in crypto, but you didn't.

Probably enough to purchase property that isn't at risk of hurricanes or other natural disasters, or enough to evacuate and insure your property, or supplies if you're to stupid to leave.

I've made more by pressing 2 buttons than you will probably make in your entire life. I gave you the chance to free yourself from Zionist bondage, but you chose slavery. Now that you're drowning and starving, facing hordes of violent subhuman criminals, where are your masters now? Do you think they will save you?
