The mother fucker lives in Norway and he says its great there
>>139788312
So it's not really that bad then, maybe you're the one who's wrong
>>139788312
Massive taxation for public programs =\= socialism
>>139788155

>>139788312
>Norway
>Socialist
>>139788371
Right, because socialism totally didn't open the doors to a tyrant to destroy my country
>>139788482
>>139788550
elaborate please
>>139788682
Socialism literally turned my grand-father from a country boy to a UN representative, true story
Personal anecdotes only will get you so far
>>139788682
Open market, democratic, government doesnt own the means of production
>>139788155
You can't. Socialists have no brain.
>>139788815
Norway isn't a Socialist country. It's left of center for funding social programs, but it's not a Socialist country. The means of production doesn't belong to the community as a whole
>>139788155
This is a simple start
>>139788942
I know that very well, burgers and bongs are absolute garbage whenever actual political and economic theory is involved and misuse words and concepts constantly
My family does come from a formerly socialist country though
>>139788682
It's a mixed economy, it is not socialist.
>>139788815
France is not socialist, where are you from and who is your grand-father?
>>139788155
Tell them the main motivator of economic productivity is the desire to independently acquire the basics of life for yourself. If this is no longer impressive or required then people will stop being productive.
Not to mention that the government couldn't possibly know the best way to allocate an individual's labor better than the individual himself. That actually might be a stronger argument because it appeals to the sense of muh individualism that liberals love.

>they all starve to death, but it's okay because at least they're equally starving
>>139788155
Ask them if they agree with the statement that people respond to incentives (this is an established truth in economics)
If they do -- or you convince them that it's true -- ask them what happens near- to long-term when you introduce a system that penalizes the rich, competent, and successful, and rewards the poor, inept, and unsuccessful
