The average voter is so misinformed (usually intentionally) and reliant on biased, colluding media outlets for information that it can hardly be called 'their' vote at all.
They vote by proxy on behalf of the influential minority.

I'm not necessarily including or excluding myself from this group, in case some faggot wants to cry about me being elitist / laugh about how I think /pol/ is unbiased or some other non argument, i'm simply making an observation of the state of things.

Granted it's not easy to find a viable alternative to this, let alone one that people will swallow easily, but our current system is clearly extremely flawed (2 party system in US, barely any difference between them, parties in UK don't represent will of people (none backed brexit, none restrict immigration despite it being in our interests and so on)).

This influence is not unlimited, as seen by Trump's victory and Brexit, but these in themselves caused huge problems of division within their respective nations, due to the influence certain groups have over the minds of the populace.
