But seriously hating on Lee is absurd. Especially when modern liberalism defends a relative there is no good side or bad but mixed stance, and then deciding Lee was the bad guy because of the confederacy.
He was an outstanding soldier in the American army, and then the Virginian. He faced the tragic choice of having to choose his true loyalty, and may have picked wrong or right depending on view. He then stuck to his choice and did his job to an exceptional degree and accepted defeat. He had no investment I slavery and did not like it that much. He wanted a return to Union and died hopeful for that. At worst he lost his war
