I'm in the same boat as you OP. Straight white male unemployed with an econ degree. Sent 300 applications. Gonna take the local firefighter test and if I don't get in for being a white male I'll probably kill myself

Too late to switch, try to get a second degree after you get this one. If not, study real fucking hard and get into law school. If you can't do either, get a trade. Economics is hard to find a job for, but if you wait it out for about four to six years, you might find a job related to your degree.
