1. Abraham makes a covenant with God. If the Jews do this and that, God is on their side.

2. The entire jewish religion is based on that covenant, and humans fulfilling the requirements of it.

Some years ago, I attended the funeral for the mother of a friend of mine.

It was held at this "church" (see image)

Imagine if Jesus hired a PR firm.

It was converted from an old mega theater. They like to project a "fun" image.

So, right on the front door is a sticker that says "no perfect people allowed" (sorry Jesus, you can't come in).

As soon as you walk in you have the gift shop where you can by the hats and T-shirts. To the side of that they have the starbucks rip-off where you can buy the coffee.

Inside of the various "chapel" rooms, you have lots of positive motivating speaking with music and lights and a laser light show. The only thing that seemed to be missing was the Bible and Jesus.

I'll admit... I'm a lapsed catholic. Outside of weddings and funerals I haven't gone to church in probably 30 years.

But I felt so dirty after that experience I was tempted to find the first tridentine mass in town to wash off the nasty.
