How does anyone think Communism is actually a good idea? How

socialism/communism is a system designed for people who are too weak or dumb to compete in a non socialist/communist society.

Nowadays I can't say, at least not in countries like ours. But 100 or so years ago, people suffered at the hands of the wealthy and few governments did anything about it, so communism had an appeal. Even in america it had much support during the Great Depression.

But now we have programs that make sure that everyone is fat and happy, in spite of the fact that the 1% is scooping up much of the wealth we all create. As long as you feel like you have opportunities and your children aren't starving or working in coal mines communism will never take hold in a prosperous country.

Of course Stalin, Castro, Mao, and other dictators helped give communism a bad name as well.
