Don't know anything about you, so this advice will be pretty generic.

1) Get a STEM degree of some sort. If you aren't doing that, you could probably come out better financially by skipping college and going into a trade. Also, you should be able to avoid most of the liberal lunacy in STEM classes. If they are trying to shove politics down your throat in math and engineering classes, you need to switch schools, because the degree will be worthless in the "real world".

2) Remember that you are in enemy territory. You won't be able to change the university as just one student. I won't tell you how much or how little to hide your power level, but ultimately, you are there to learn things, get a degree, and get out. Whatever you do, don't give them an opening to jeopardize your future in any way.

If you want to fight them, then graduate, get a good career, build a good life, don't let them see a single penny of alumni donations from you, and stand up for your beliefs from a position of strength and relative security. Don't poke the lion while you are still in the cage with it.

I design websites and teach/perform classical guitar. I can tell you that I had many leftist-progressive peers or mentors who helped me, and I did not get into big political arguments with them because I wanted to actually benefit from them. This is what I am trying to say here.

There is a leftist system in place at the moment. You either rape it's resources by keeping your opinions to yourself, or you are able to start your own business or whatever.

What libertarians don't tell you is that most people who start businesses already have connections from peers to get started (which they obtained from working in the corporate world), and they usually have capital to invest it in it (which they obtained from the corporate world).

Takes money to make money, and if you're broke, you'll probably have to do some things you don't want to do with people you don't like. I know self-absorbed delusional libertarians think the "free-market" will provide solutions to problems as long as the person is willing to take risks, but it simply is not true

This is a really good question (and i think it's meant sincerely), so I'll give a few ideas.
I think that one of the very best things people learn at college (ideally) is how to write better and think better so as to persuade an audience. This also involves knowing how to gather information from high-quality, verified sources so that opinions can be built on the best possible foundation. Also this means learning to think from many different perspectives and learning to understand how solutions to similar problems have unfolded over time. It turns out that most of what we deal with now has also been dealt with by other people in the past. Knowing about what these past people have done makes our own responses stronger -- like someone fucking for the thousandth time instead of the first time.

As I see it, our brain is our best asset as humans. We can't run faster than a cheetah and we can't swim better than a dolphin, but we can certainly out-think and out-analyze any other species. College is like a training camp for our minds so that we can function at a much higher level than was possible previously. Education helps us to use our brains better.
