Is no free will the ultimate redpill?
Sam "I swear to the Torah I'm not a Zionist" Harris recently dump the massive free will is an illusion redpill on me and it's really fucking with me.
How am I supposed to live knowing that every action I or anyone else makes (including thoughts) are not actually conscious (or at least not entirely conscious) choices? Is there actually any proof at all that free will exists?

Exactly this. Although I feel like it is ME that is stopping MYSELF from raping people it's the conscious ME even though it feels like it. If we could observe every factor that went into a certain rape we would be able to see that the rapist never had conscious control over it, despite it seeming like it.
I accept that to be true, however; I also think he should be punished. If rapist weren't punished society would most likely stop functioning entirely. So the rapist, much like his victim. is just an extremely unlucky person as neither of them had control over the factors that lead to him raping her.

I consider myself an educated person but this is the first time I've ever heard of this. But also I'm an athiestfag and I couldn't see myself ever coming around to literally believe in Jesus as the son of god.
