He tried to pander to racist hicks, which did get him some electoral seats, but it did little to change the fact that he moved the party right, allowing the already conservative republicans to turn into a far right cesspool. He essentially took the philosophy of being a wimp and not making anyone mad, but all that did was make the right wing nutjobs feel like they were right about anything.
He also deregulated the housing markets, which allowed banks to give legally give subprime mortgages, and essentially defraud their customers, leading to the 08 crash.
And of course, how could we forget the forgotten Mark Rich. Of all the men with the last name Rich that dealt with the Clintons, the dumb republicans always bring up the wrong one, Seth, when they should be bringing up Mark Rich, a legitimately bad person whom Clinton pardoned for no good reason.
All in all, a pretty shitty human being. The last time America had a remotely decent president was Harry Truman.
