Anyone here from Kamloops? Saw this on the news. It's been 6 hours and the RCMP has not given out any details. Quick rundown:
>RCMP states they're dealing with a "police situation" at Cambridge Crescent
>block the streets from traffic
>evacuate houses in a 4-house radius from the scene
>police advise everyone to stay away from the area
Any idea what could be happening?

Probably just a run of the mill emergency, maybe a gas leak or something. Bumping for interest all the same.

probably crystal meth related

That's literally how they execute warrants in Canada. "No-knock" warrants like in the states are highly frowned upon here. So instead police set up a dragnet, get a tactical unit in place and then knock on the door to serve an arrest warrant. Usually there ends up being a brief armed standoff following by the person surrendering peacefully.

Maple syrup was stolen

But there was a standoff in Langley not long ago, and people were just asked to stay inside their homes, not evacuated, and I don't think they would shut down an entire street just for that.
The evacuation part, traffic blocking and no details about this at all is what makes me suspicious.

No professional team to deal with gas leaks on scene after 6 hours, just two police cruisers outside currently.

>two police cruisers
literal non-happening.

They probably found a dead body or something like that. Nothing big.
Who cares?
It probably took them hours trying to figure out of it was a zirl or a zuy anyway.
They won't accomplish shit.
