There is a VERY sizeable portion of the bible-belt in the south and midwest who earnestly believe jesus wont come back for the apocalypse unless isreal regains control of the palestinian lands and builds the new temple on the mount first. They are a sizeable enough demographic within the conservative voting block that politicians running on a conservative platform must be pro isreal to have hopes of getting elected.

So we got a lot of evangelicals going "muh prophecy" and a lot of SJWs going "muh 6 million" so no matter who is in power they are almost garunteed to be pro isreal.
