I'm an exmuslim atheist. I used to think muslim countries were fucked unless their societies opened up a bit more and became more rational/less religious but after reading the Culture of Critique I changed my mind. Islamic countries have a future, not necessarily a bright one, but at least they have a future. Open societies with no moral boundaries and no rational discourse where mass media has more influence than either religion or reason are completely fucked.
