This might be somewhat off topic but I think it's relevant to the political climate.

I'm currently in college, and I've been debating with myself about weather it would be better to go for a Law Major and attempt to become a politician, or go for a computer science major and just become a programmer.

I wanted to pose this question to /pol/ to begin the discussion of whether it's better to try and fight for your society and make your mark, or simply worry about yourself and take an easier pathway in life.

I want more than anything to be a politician, to be someone who is remembered in history, and more than anything else I want to save the west. But for one I'm very poor, so affording law school will be incredibly difficult and unless I'm going to Harvard or Yale, it's almost worthless. And the job market there isn't as lucrative. And I don't even know if anything can be done by the time I would be even remotely close to any power. There is also the question about what job do I get before I'm actually elected into anything.

Computer science however is a more lucrative feild, and if shit goes belly up here in America I have a skillset that will allow me to immigrate somewhere else. It's also cheaper and provides a more stable career. I enjoy programming, but not nearly as much as I enjoy politics and the idea of becoming the leader of my nation.

So would it be better to try and shoot for a political science then law degree or play it safer and go for a computer science degree.

That's a shoop, right? I recall Hitler refusing to meet with Owens after embarrassing his master race contestant.

I'll advocate for the political side because basically what i did.

I barely work, but I waste all my time here trying to keep up.

Actually he threw him a Roman salute. He then later took him aside and spoke with him and took a photograph. His mother confirmed this until one day she up and decided it never happened. Wonder why....

Study computer science and then take the LSAT in case you want to go to law school. Don't be a retard and study polisci or law in undergrad. Go to a solid state school where you minimize your debt and do internships for cash from the get go. Look into a co-op program, they will take you as a freshman.

I think it's a shop, you can look at Hitler's right arm and see his arm isn't raised.

Law is a trash field for trashcans that chains you to a desk reading/writing memos 80 hrs a week.

You dont need a CS degree to be a software engineer.

Get a physics degree, do research that's relevant to the engineering world (semiconductors, optics, imaging, biosensors) and live happily ever after.

Is there any way to get a computer science degree but still get into politics later on?

Don't do computer science unless you are REALLY passionate about it, you can't go in to it only 75% in to it and expect to do well. The guys that are 100% in to it are the ones that do well and will run circles around you when it comes to finding a job.

The work is fucking grueling, you need to be passionate about it or you just wont get everything done and get a good result.

Also bear in mind that comp sci isn't just programming, it goes a lot deeper than just writing code.

I went in to comp sci at university with a mercenary mindset, I was in it for the money and job opportunity and did poorly because it turns out I just don't have the passion for it like I thought I did.

YES

Do your research, all you need for law school is the LSAT and a good gpa. You can major in whatever. And join young republicans if you are interested in politics. READ THIS BOOK

Become a programmer
The only good politics are the outsiders to political sphere

I really like programming. Back before I was redpilled It was my go too for what I wanted to do.

>>139432169
If that's true then I think that this is my perfect option. If politics doesn't work out, I'll move to Poland and work on vidya

As far as software engineering, you want to get experience in what you want to do ASAP. The Entry level full time positions that you will want when you graduate will expect you to have professional experience before graduating. Make sure you are actually developing software in your internships. Avoid tech support and IT shit.
