I suppose that for my part it's an inherent predisposition against people trying to spend their lives as resources, or going down in blazes of glory - take Dylann Storm Roof for instance. When I think of how he wasted all of the potential that he had for the future of the cause to accomplish basically nothing, it kinda pisses me off.

And yes, I realize that we don't do that for the most part. But with islamic terrorism being what it is, it seems that more and more people might follow in that example even without the promise of 72 virgins in heaven - just for the sake of the cause, giving up their lives willingly. When in reality they might have moved it by an inch but they would've done much better to LIVE for the cause rather than die for it.

The glorification of death for the sake of an abstract ideological object is far from useful to us. Like I said, we have enough dead heroes.

But that's just my ramblings, I suppose. Haven't actually read Spengler, so I wouldn't know.
