I'll concede for the sake of argument that it's possible to get to this point. Let's say in your society, there are no people who take advantage of the system. But then, new children are born. What exactly prevents them from going on to take advantage of the system? Let's say that whatever is supposed to prevent them from taking advantage of the system fails, and a significant swathe of the population start exploiting the system.

What now? Is the solution killing them? Or sending them to a "reeducation camp"? It obviously can't be to just live and let live, because your society would fall apart. So what you're insisting on is permanent, crushing totalitarianism that forces people to live a certain way, robbing them of a significant amount of freedom. This is a system that would necessarily eliminate the rights of the individual in favor of the good of the collective. Essentially, you'd be under Fascist rule (I hope you like WWII era Germany).

So, the only possible reality in which this society couldn't be totalitarian and awful is if human beings simply lose their inherent self-interest. Man can no longer be a being who has to look out for his own interests. He now has to be a creature which, by his very nature, puts the greater good above himself.

I personally think this is absurd, but I suspect that you believe that self-interest is a learned behavior in a pre-communist society. If I'm right about that, I'm not going to say that you're wrong, but I will say this: What you're asking for is a total restructuring of society (Most likely by force) in service of the baseless assertion that self-interest isn't an inherent trait of human beings. And you're trying to do this without even having any evidence that this is the case.
