I will try to be as neutral as possible here.

Macron approval rating wasn't up to date because he didn't tell people what he want to do.

May 2017 > He got elected by default because Marin Le Pen is far right and the country while demoralized isn't ready to throw everything away. And we can surely all agree she was terrible in the debate no matter the side you are on. Once elected Macron tried to be as vague as possible to be able to get the parliament on his side
> June 2016: Parliament election. Macron basically disappear and wait for the election to finish. He got an absolute majority but his deputy are mostly new unlected people.

Now he is speaking more clearly about what he want to do. And people are displeased with him.

The more Macron tell us what he want to do, the more people don't like him.

He want :
+ Weaken the law about work. And since French boss are well know to be the worst in the world I can let you imagine what will happen.
+ We are working 35H a day in most job, but it is possible with something in your contract to work more but be paid with a small bonus with the hour above 35h. Macron is unclear but in the worst case scenario we might be working 39H, paid 35H.

In France we are taxed a lot but the taxes are supposed to pays for a high level of public service. It is ore or less the opposite of the USA. It is a choice.

He is trying to have us pay the same taxes or more but giving us less public service.

Or at least that is how I understand it because the guy isn't really clear.

In September he will be forced to tell us what he want to do because a law is written in clear term.
Macron want us to like him for what he is about to do, it is wierd.
