resources are those materials/objects/goods/ that are necessary to sustain life. the more you have the better the chance of surviving.

surviving implies the condition of being alive and the persistence of life itself.

life is a state in which matter is organized in a way that creates sophisticated beings capable of metabolism and reproduction.

metabolism is the capacity to bring matter from a less available source of energy to a more available source of energy. this more available source of energy is then used to build and sustain a very complex structure [the living being] that is capable of limiting the conversion of said energy into heat. that's why as soon as anything dies it becomes colder because heat is being transferred to the surrounding matter. here is where entropy comes in.

as you may know, entropy has to do with the tendency of thermal energy to be distributed uniformly across a closed system [the universe being the ultimate closed system]. less entropy means there is more heat on one area than in other. more entropy means there is a more equal distribution of heat. so every part of the system looks the same. there is no discernible structure. if we said that life requires a very sophisticated structure then life can't afford to let entropy to prosper. if all the heat in the universe is distributed equally there is no way of distinguishing one thing from another.

therefore humans [and every other living being] will do whatever it can to avoid heat escaping its body which would allow entropy to "win".

see? humans have to fight to be able to keep heat in one place and not spread around.

In reality, it's more like 75% who must be forced to be useful to begin with, so the state collapses almost immediately on political timescales.

Classical Liberals believe this is achievable by making everyone have an equal say, but it is not. The system almost always starts with some limited group holding the influence, then those at the fiscal bottom gradually attempt to expand it to compete with those at the top. This expansion rapidly degrades into pleasing the lowest of the populous, which reinforces the livelihoods of the unsuccessful.

Fascists believe this is achievable by enforcing the correct dogma on everyone around them, and killing dissenters. It is not. Instead, you have a narrowing group of "true believers" and every flaw in your ideology becomes more and more central to that central group, tearing it apart. This makes it nearly impossible to maintain in the long term.

Only a system unashamedly self-interested is stable in the long-term, like monarchy.
