At the very core of captivating memes and humor (say, stand-up comedy) in general is the exposure to new, non-trivial, and sometimes taboo, ideas. The whole reason a joke is funny is because it surprises you and forces you to think something in a new way. Exploring opinions and ideas that everyone are supposed to agree with in the first place is a non-starter.

No. Its a conclusion i reached independently. just what i've observed from a lot of leftists I talk to. I try to challenge my ideas by listening to their arguments and I see this a lot.
