To say that your position on any topic will never change is to declare yourself to be beyond reason. The basic gist is that capitalism is inherintly broken.
Companies want to make as much money as possible which means paying works the smallest amount possible.
Eventually workers can't afford to buy things, meaning the whole system collapses.
Currently with automation we are going to see a huge loss of jobs that will make the concept of full employment obsolete - so who is going to buy things?
Communism isn't some grand fucking conspiracy about race or western civilization - its just a question of economics.

I've come to like these threads now, everytime i get in them its just to laugh at everyone shiting on OP and communism. It's at a point now that when i see these threads i get all giddy. Oh fugg maybe that is how i am being conditioned to like Communism...

Threadly reminder that the mass executions by secret police of ordinary Soviet citizens did not start under Stalin, they started under Lenin. Just about every single member of Russia's intelligentsia (college educated class) was pulled from their apartments in the middle of the night and shot in the head by Lenin's secret police. Then they did the same to everyone on the voting rolls for any party but communism pre-revolution. Then they did the same to people that HAD actually supported the revolution but had accumulated a bit too much property since it happened.

The point I'm getting at is that when you have a system that incentivizes working less hard to avoid having your surplus (and subsequently your life) taken from you, you're going to end up needing secret police and slave labor to get anything done

If this is true why then does the average poor person in America today make 8x what the average poor person today made 100 years ago (both in today's dollars)? Why is it that the bottom 1% of Americans are still richer than 80% of the world because of their access to a car and a home? You realize that Soviets had to push really hard to censor western media because the simple idea of the poor class all owning cars meant that capitalism proved more beneficial for the poor than communism

We were never really socialist. We called our socialism "coca cola communism". We were essentially one step away from capitalism. That is why we were succesful, we were just a socialist lite state, ask any croat, slovenian, serbian on this. And our state received us aid so we are kept alive to counter USSR.
