Money is only valuable as long as it is convenient.
Deflation would give more value to the money but makes it less convenient from where the money is deflating. Taxation, for example, gives value to the money, but devalues the source (the person being taxed).

Inflation devalues the money but values the source.

Hyper-deflation happens when an economically valuable source of money is devalued (The business owners paying the most tax).
And hyper inflation happens when an economically worthless source of money is valued (welfare recipients, etc) .

It's possible to have both at the same time. Prices get higher, and there's less money in the economy. The money that does get into the economy goes into useless shit like government-paid healthcare, welfare, social programs, etc; and the money that comes back out comes from the richest of the people who need the money to keep the world spinning.

In a capitalist system, it depreciates the currency to take from the high priority and give to the low priority. When the currency depreciates, it doesn't matter if there's less of it, it's not going to be any more valuable.

No one in the USA has to be homeless, BTW. If you see a homeless person on the streets, that is a choice they made. Homeless people have many options, not the least of which is to enter a homeless shelter, of which there are thousands, and in which they will be fed and clothed and given a place to sleep.

But there are usually rules, most of which are along the lines of forcing people to get their shit together - no drinking, no drugs, curfew, evidence of a job hunt happening, etc. Many homeless people prefer to just be homeless rather than follow a program designed to get them on their feet.

Helping people who only want handouts and refuse to help themselves is not on my agenda. If I ever do want to help, I'll donate to the shelters, not to the morons on the street.
