Our harsh way of life gave way for beautiful artistry like Þórarinn Þorláksson and Sigur Rós, we almost single handedly conserved Nordic culture both through our language and our writing, see Snorri Sturlusson.
We weren't always like this you know, we had to fight for it and be incredibly careful and smart in law, business and politics because others could take over easily if they wanted.
We have not had an easy history at all, we struggled and fought. People starved but continued.
