Texas hospitals are usually pretty decent, Houston especially since the medical center in downtown is considered one of the best major medical hubs in the world (We get a lot of rich foreigners coming in for procedures across the world. i went 2 weeks ago because i thought i may have some perforation or infection of my colon after a fecal transplant colonoscopy outpatient at another facility the previous wednesday; i was in a room in the ER in under 30 minutes, and hospitalized and moved to a room upstairs some hours later which i stayed until last friday, so ~5 full days, i would have been discharged a day sooner but the doctor said i was still bleeding too much - oddly this is the first time i have been hospitalized without a blood transfusion

if i had went late in the night or evening as i have previous times, the wait would likely have been as many hours just to get the ER room

The exact opposite. The reason I eat junk food is because I eat it all in 5-10 minutes and then sit around for an hour or so because moving too much after eating gives me nausea. When I'm on a trip I have to purposely eat half as much and half as fast to avoid that; I realize that it takes around half hour for my body to recognize when it is full of food or not.

I used to be able to eat meals twice the size when I was in my early 20s, but my metabolism slowed down since then considerably.

The one time I went to the ER (other than the time I barely remember when I broke my arm as a kid), i was expecting it to be some kind of war zone. People screaming, gore, dying people, etc. Instead it was literally quieter than a doctor's waiting room and I got seen in 20 minutes by a qt young doctor who had come over from the UK. Worst injury/illness I could see in the waiting area was a kid with a broken thumb.

Why am I in the biggest pain of my life? I had to diagnose myself using google. It sucks because I work on my feet. next few times I got it, I just sucked it up and went to work. Very painful, but standing on it gets rid of it in a day rather than a week.
