I live in a relevant country but in a very small town. It's not that bad here where I live as it is in big cities. I enjoy living here and I wouldn't go if it stays the same here.

It's important when determining standard of living and what kind of economy a nation has, but in terms of worldwide impact stock GDP is probably the best indicator.

Let's use Luxembourg for an example.

If it ceased to exist overnight, the rest of the world would certianly be effected, surely, however the effect wouldn't be nearly as great as if the same thing were to happen to China.

The thing to keep in mind is that relevant doesn't nessarily mean well off. China and India are both shitholes, but they both rank very high in terms of the global impact they have by existing just due to the sheer amount of people they have living there.
