At the end of the day it really depends on the movement, Italian and British fascism is more secular based then Spanish falangism or Romanian Fascism

Religion isn't in and of itself a component of Fascism. It can serve as an auxiliary unification vector alongside nationalism but it's entirely optional. Hell, so is nationalism for that matter. Fundamentally you just need some cohesive force to unite the people under one banner so they will work for a common cause.
