The trick is to never buy it new from the Apple Store. I've bought a couple MacBooks in amazing condition from a Craigslist for for like $400 that would usually cost $1500-$2000 new. Apple does make generally really good hardware and the build is reliable. But I do not like the direction it's heading currently imo
