Germany's diplomacy was weak in both world wars. They never pressed their advantages to make favorable peace deals. The British were open to such a deal in 1917. The German "alliance" with Japan was diplomatically flawed because Germany declared war on Japan's enemy (USA) and Japan did not declare war on Germany's enemy (USSR). If Japan had stood in solidarity with Germany during Barbarossa, even only nominally, that alone could have easily led to the capture of Moscow by the end of 1941.

German gas attacks in WWI could have been decisive if they had been used more intelligently. Instead the attacks were used prematurely with only small amounts of gas and no gas masks for German troops to follow up with. By the time large-scale gas attacks with adequate preparation were being conducted, the Allies had already developed countermeasures so no break could be achieved.

All it would have required were some concessions in Belgium, and possibly not even all of Belgium. With no UK in the war, the USA would not enter and France would have stood alone.
