What a stupid thread.

I'm projecting my thoughts here, but the only reason I'd have a problem with silly people worshiping silly spirits is if I had some belief in a magical spirit of my own that I felt was threatened by their beliefs.

For what its worth, mythicism of all sorts is ridiculous, and spooks and gobbledegoos have nothing to do with modern life, and are rapidly fading in relevancy.

I suppose I can see some value in De-constructing cultural traditions for educational purposes, but secular study is the only way to approach anything remotely objectively.

Putting metaphysics and theology aside atheists and "pagans" disrupt the unity of the west. Western culture framed everything in Christian terms. The only motivation to discard Christianity is precisely the universalist sentiments that reject a single God simply because it's the western God and claim all gods are just as valid/invalid. The whole point of monotheism in the first place was that your subjective reality is not ultimate truth. You obey the same unalterable Laws as everyone else, the Word of God. There is no denying it.
