Why do Americans keep falling for the lottery jew?
>>
Because poor people have little hope in life to be rich and don't mind spending a few dollars a week on the hope they'll be the one to hit the jackpot.
>>
Lots of poor people and a potential way out of their misery. I play lotto, too. I won 30k Euros once.
>>
Paying a dollar to release endorphins to help distract from financial hardship is worth it for some people. Others are content with smokes and drinks. The bad off ones go to casinos to get their fix.
>inb4 fags imply being poor = being stupid
Most people understand how shitty the odds are, but that isn't the point of buying the lotto ticket, anyway.
>>
>>138648827
Because they're dumb schmucks.
>>
>>138648827
Niggers mostly. Some white trash. I saw a dune coon buy a bunch one night. Some rationalize it as helping schools.

once a week is even excessive ...
i only play when the lotto is super huge like the 700mil one
>>
People want to not worry about finances, anon.

Lottery gives them hope.

Although, to be completely fair, it isn't hard to be rich. You can get there relatively quickly if you follow three rules.

1. Recognize an opportunity to make money and pounce on it.

2. Always make sure the risk is less than the reward.

3. A moral man will never be rich. Friends, family, and faith will keep you poor forever. If you remove these obstacles or are prepared to lose them you will grow.

Many people, amazingly enough can't do the third rule.

Criminals fail at the second.

Idiots fail at the first.

If you follow all three though? You will be rich very, very quickly.
>>
>>138650096
>>138649887
There are people that pay around 3 dollars for a Starbucks coffee everyday and you're saying one or two dollars a week for a lottery ticket is excessive?

However, I'm not sure about scratchers. I feel like people find it easier to overspend on scratchers than tickets

>>
>>138649409
This is a common misconception. When a state introduces a lottery and says it's paying for education, people think that all that money is being added to the budget already allocated to education. The reality is they take the new lottery money and put it toward education and then take whatever they were using before and use it for other budget items.

Lottery is the stupid tax, to be sure. My wife loves the one where you win 5k/month for the rest of your life (for some reason). I let her buy a ticket when she fills up her car (I count it as a fill-up I don't have to do).

Lol, have fun trying to bring a feast to the table when no one will contribute to it. Lets just disregard the fact that the rich overwhelmingly contribute to society beneficially, donate, have strong familial ties, contribute the most to private education, contribute the most to the church (timexcost benefit analysis) and create empires for their families

Getting people to vote for lotteries is easier when they say it's going to education than government employee salaries. Move the money around and it's the exact same thing.

It also gives a really wrong picture about just how much money education gets and what it gets spent on.

>>
The lottery has completely ruined my life. I have spent thousands on tickets. I have also taken out dozens of payday loans. My original plan was to hit it big and then pay off the loans. The big win never came. Today I'm getting constant calls from the loan companies asking for their money back. I have literally no money left. It won't be that much longer until everyone I know finds out. This will probably be the last drawing that I will ever be able to play.
The reason I play the lottery is because it is my only chance to live a good life. I live in the middle of nowhere so there is no business opportunity. I don't want to slave away for 40 years for ten dollars an hour. Also winning the lottery will probably be my only chance to get a gf.
This year alone I've spent over twenty thousand dollars. My biggest win was 250 dollars.
IF YOU ARE LIVING A GOOD LIFE DON'T PLAY THE LOTTERY. It will just ruin your life.
I will keep playing until somebody matches all numbers and the jackpot resets. If I don't win I will have no choice but to kms.
I live in Ohio. If you see on the news that the winner wasn't in southern rural Ohio just assume that I'm dead.

I owe almost fifth thousand. But my job only pays about 30 to 50 dollars a day. I have literally no way to pay them off. They won't stop calling. If my family finds out I'm so screwed. I know they will find out soon enough.
My plan is still to win. I don't even need to win the 700 million. I'd be perfectly fine with winning the million dollar prize. That would be enough to make me live a somewhat decent life.
The only thing of value I own is my car. Probably worth three thousand. But I need it because I live in the middle of nowhere. I need it to go buy more tickets.
Seriously if I don't win death will be the only way to get out of this mess.

I did the odds once. Even with the shitty 33% return, it is actually worth it WHEN the top prize goes above about 450 million. This takes into account that you ONLY get 1/2 what they say (lump sum payout), and THEN the government takes 30%+ in taxes on the STATE RUN LOTTO.

So thanks for jacking up the prize for me suckers! Otherwise it's the worst investment ever.
>>
>>138650525
People who pay $3 or more a day on coffee are every bit as stupid as those that buy lotto tickets... they're just more classy.
>>
>>138656385
You don't understand I have literally no other way to make so much money. This is my only chance. Stocks take 30 years to make you rich. I need fifty thousand dollars before the end of the month just to pay off my loans.
I also want to live the good life. After all I do deserve it after everything I've been through. I don't need hundreds of millions. Just a few million and I'll be set for life. Tell me how else I can make a couple million besides the lottery.
>>
>>138653787
Yep. But then, any money destroys friends/family, I've seen several ripped apart over inheritance. The key is to not let anyone know you have it, lawyer up right away and only talk to a select few, refer everyone else to the lawyer. 350 million (after taxes), you can afford to put a good bulldog lawyer on permanent retainer. Then go get one of the best accountants you can find, and start structuring the money into trusts, and some into investments. Have enough available to live well, but not enough to throw houses and cars at people (and they WILL beg for them). That way, if people beg, you can honestly say "It's all tied up, sorry".
I'd probably set aside 5 mill or so in a family trust, and have it invest heavily so it grows, and put a small list of people on a monthly income from it. Not enough to live on, but enough to make their lives better. Set up some educational trusts, too.
Then, I'd disapear for a while. Go buy a remote island or something, and figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. $350 million is an instant ticket to the 1% world, if you play it right, and invest and grow it - and start moving a lot of it offshore.
>>
>>138655503
Bullshit. Payday loan companies are basically the mob, there's no fucking way they can't find you. Stop larping, faggot.

Triple trips of truth.

It's called "fungible budgeting" They always say it will fund some bleeding heart bullshit but then cut the EXISTING funding for that program. The end result is ALWAYS an increase to the GENERAL fund.

Reagan did this to fund the Contras even though it was illegal at the time. He gave them millions in food, medical supplies, and other "non weapons" help. The Contras then used all the money they saved on weapons. At one time they got some much free shit they were trading it directly for weapons.

my coworker spends $30 EVERY MORNING on a pack of smokes and some lotto tickets....
Then on his way home he stops at the bar and buys a few pints ($30 more) and a 12 pack for home ($30) more.

I honestly dont know where he gets the money bc he never wins the lottos and the rest just gets pissed down the drain...

I just dont get how people do this.

I was at the casino the other weekend for a buddy's stag. I spent $40 just for fun and it instantly got pissed away.
I witnessed people within an hour put $400 in to the machines and lose it all.. They have their fucking credit cards in the machines, gambling with money they dont have with interest on their losses..
I have never seen so many people in one place who look suicidal.
It was seriously shocking and fucked up.
Gambling is so degenerate.

lawyer the fuck up. 100%

have advisers and lawyers that don't know about each other (always consult with them too) and pay off all your debts. Money changes even the best of people and you need to tell your family that it's not out of hate or disrespect out of them, but that it's just a safety net to save your ass.

Change your name, move out of state and take a vacation as soon as you win for a couple months or more until the heat dies down. live in a high rise condo with security and get a carry permit.

YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO SAFE.

A better question is why should you not have to work for things?
There is no easy way out, it's all just a dream that you will never catch. People are wealthy because they're intelligent and worked hard on something they are passionate about. And not everyone is meant to be wealthy.

Also being loaded rich does not equate to happiness. I grew up poor and had to move in with a freidn when my parents went bankrupt and lost our house. I lived with a friend who was filthy rich and owned 90 acres of prime land and a mansion.. funny thing was that his family was always angry/stressed, and the kids of the family all ended up being drug addicts with no life.

I aspired to make something of myself and put myself through school with no help and now live a very comfy life with a great gf and starting a family. The power for happiness is in your hands not some stupid lotto company;s

You would find much more happiness saving that money or doing something practical with it, but because you insist on taking the easy way out, you will remain poor and siphon what little money you have into this scam.

Even if you won the millions, you would waste it all away because you have no idea how to manage it, and you have no idea how to handle it at all - clearly.

Youre a mess and I hope you realize this sooner than later.
>>
>>138676052

Why don't you declare bankruptcy?
Your loans are discharged.
Also, no one will ever loan you money again.
Problem solved.
>>
>>138656040
Bankruptcy was invented for people like you. You've dug yourself into a hole a hole and there is no way you will get out by yourself. This lottery thing is just a pipe dream. You know it will never happen. Stop blowing your paycheck on lottery tickets and find a credit counselor or legal aid or something that will help you start bankruptcy proceedings. This will get your creditors off your back and wipe out your debts. No more phone calls. No more letters. They'll just be gone.

As soon as you've done that, if not before, find a support group for gambling. You are a compulsive gambler. You've spent $20,000 trying to relive the high from winning $250. You know this isn't healthy. You want to live the good life, but you've already lost $20,000 to your addiction. How will things ever be good if you keep spending this way? Twenty grand could get you a degree, a down payment on a house, a new car, a used luxury car, all kinds of things. You could use it to move to another area and have cash left over to support yourself while you look for a job.

Do it. Bankruptcy. Gambling addiction counseling. New start. Make the right choices.

I wouldn't have a problem with working if I knew that it would take me somewhere in life. But the only job I have and probably ever will have has no opportunity to move forward.
I believe that money would make me happy. I'm always stressed out thinking about how my life is going nowhere. I don't need a giant mansion with sports cars and private jets. A regular house would be just fine with me.
I'm poor and stressed. Surely money wouldn't make that worse.
I do know plenty of rich people and most of them are miserable. However most of them have been rich their entire lives. They didn't get money because they are smart. Their parents gave it all to them. If I won the lottery I would never forget where I came from and how I used to live. I would try and help everyone who has been nice to me.
The difference between you and me is that you have goals in life and you probably had lots of opportunities that I could never have.
When you were young how many sleepovers and birthday parties and friends did you have. I never got to sleep over at a friend's house. My birthday parties were spent alone and only one person from me school lived close to me. He went to school the next day and told everyone details that I would have rather kept private. But it was either play with him or play with no one. When growing up like this and seeing other people your age get gfs and go to parties and have a great life it starts to make you have jealously and envy. If I wasn't poor these problems would have never happened.

Dude did you not read the part where I had to grow up away from my family because we were bankrupt poor?
I scraped through high-school, and worked summers and took out loans to pay for college. Thats it. Everything i have is the accumulation of my own hard work and positive attitude. I never gambled, abused credit, or pissed away money because I witnessed the damage it can do to a family by seeing my own family lose everything over bankruptcy. Our house, cars, dog, everything was lost, and our family was split up into various homes who would take us in.

>I began to visualize myself winning the lottery. I did this all throughout the month of June. After continuous analyzing and contemplation, I concluded that winning the lottery was the only way I could become wealthy at a young age, and thus it was the only way to enjoy the rest of my youth. If I didn’t have a satisfying youth, I would be bitter and miserable for the rest of my life, but of course that would never happen. If it came to that, then I would have to carry out the Day of Retribution. Indeed, it was the only way I could attain any sort of wealth at my age. I had no talents, so it was impossible for me to become a professional actor, musician, or athlete; and those were usually the ways that young people acquired such money. I could invent something, or start a business just like Mark Zuckerberg did with Facebook, but the chances of me achieving such a thing were the same chances I had of winning the lottery anyway. I didn’t even have the skills of a computer programmer.

This is the same with Oregon. Most of the population is mostly centered in the Portland metro area. There's a lot of conservatives in the countryside.

Degenerate coffee fags in this thread argue that paying around 3 dollars everyday for coffee is less of a waste of money than spending two dollars or four dollars a week on lottery tickets.

3 dollars everyday for a week on coffee is 21 dollars a week.

Depends on your personality. Are you an introvert or an extrovert.

Now let's look for an example of a lonely billionaire that isn't Notch aka Paul Allen.

Paul Allen dreamed of marrying and starting a family but it never happened.

His best friend is his sister, however, and it's too late for marriage but at least he is getting his name attached to history faster than Bill Gates.

How is this possible, you might add?

Well, Paul Allen has been successfully discovering the wreckages of famous warships from World War 2 ranging from Japanese warships to American warships and he and his crew are getting credited for the discovery.

Meanwhile, every other cruise ship owner is just hosting degenerate parties on their boat while Paul Allen seems to have given up the party lifestyle and just seems to make discovering sunken ships as part of his hobby now.

Makes me wonder if he will sell his cruise ship for a proper research vessel.

I don't have friends or a GF so that doesn't apply. I'm lawyering up for the whole family thing though. I plan on giving them 1-2 million to each of my immediate family and to every familial household in that shares my blood. I'll even eat the taxes so they get that evenly without taxes dipping into the amount I want to give away. not including paying for my cousins college tuitions, so they won't go into debt. My family is decently smart with money aside from one sibling, but I'll try to get him the specific help he needs.

It's too late for that. Because of lottery tickets I'm now fifty thousand dollars in debt. I have no way to pay it back. Only way is if I win the lottery.

Why bother doing anything? Sure the odds are a long shot. It's worth a try though. Just the act of participating makes you an risk taker. People that don't take risk are losers.
>>
>>138697037
Buying one ticket is the way to go. Taking your chance to win from zero to anything above zero is the only smart move. Any purchase after the first ticket is wasted money.

Just make a choice. Keep playing or stop and cut your losses. In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal. People lose 10x that in a single night in Vegas. Hell, people lose 10x that from divorce settlement. It's all about perspective.

Multiple people have told you how to get yourself out of this mess. You've ignored them all. You're looking for pity, not advice. Basically behaving like a woman. Have you ever considered the possibility that you're trans?

>Why do Americans keep falling for the lottery jew?

Direct taxes on the elderly and working poor are too unpopular so you have to tax them indirectly.
