Buddhism, which can be conceived more like a philosophy of consciousness change, that recommends and guides the user in different practices (meditation) in order to alter your perception and master your central nervous system.

The thing is buddhism delivers results that most other religions don't. An alternative to that would be the mystic sects of most major religions. Sufi islam, Khabbalistic judaism and many, many other small sects that teach methods of consciousness change.

Many of these are known as 'ecstatic religions', because one of the many things that you can learn with their methods is, through different exercises, and eventually at will, open and close the tap in the brain for many important hormones like dopamin and etc which can cause you to be constantly happy like if you were 24/7 in a morphine trip.

Of course that's not the only thing that you can do with your own brain, and there are many different other ways of perception and consciousness change, which in case you're already lost, that is what most religions originally are about. Eventually the practices and rituals for such purpose become a secret reserved for the clergy and different orders and none of the believers get anything from that. (Which is what happened in the mainstream variants of Abrahamic religions.)

My TL;DR here is that if you really feel something is lacking in your life and really gonna change your religion, don't go for another mainstream one. Established religions are like the McDonalds of spirituality. They are there for political control and for normos to have their moral needs met.
