We're going back to fighting. In the early years of the conflict, the number Trump proposed is a little less than what we actually had. It's only when Bush decided to "rebuild Afghanistan" that shit went sideways. Obama continued it. Trump is going back to the mission; exterminating vermin.

This also goes with his war on drugs, because the Afghans are growing the poppy and the fields need to be poisoned so nothing will grow there for the next thousand years.
