Smoking bans indoors mostly came about because of occupational health and safety laws. Waitresses, flight attendants and others in the hospitality industry filed fuckhuge lawsuits for lung cancer linked directly to second hand smoke. Unlike passengers or customers, the employees were trapped in that environment day in day out (8 hour shift is equivalent to being a 2-pak-a-day smoker). Waitresses were in the same category as coal miners and welders when it came to lung cancer.

The "war on smoking" is driven by insurance companies, lawyers and big business, not the entitled left.

It's super hard to find quality, I wish this company didn't close their doors. Etched pipes are almost always shit these days. Smooth bodied meers are really hit or miss because it seems so few work with blocks now, and you're gambling on coloration being shit because of it. You could make your own pretty easily if you get your hands on a block though.

Those look really nice but I was really referring to the oldschool meers that look like the european artists were trying to outdo the best roman sculptures - very few still exist and they go for extreme prices. Some guy called Yanik makes interesting (and very expensive pieces) but even those don't have the mark of a dedicated and studied artist, they lack some detail and expressive gesture to be precise.

Turkey wont export raw meerschaum and if the terrorists take over, the entire industry will be done for that's why I'm planning on stocking up on nicer unsmoked pieces as well as some for myself.
