Realize this anon; The current state of America is very relevant to the state of Germany after WW1. Excluding Famine and the economic collapse which may or may not happen in America, the country is divided and there are three sides.

1. Democratics - These are normal civilians who could care less for right or left and still have faith in our institutions and favor democracy still. They see nothing out of the ordinary.

This is true British anon but the it was a social and psychological civil war. The nationalists ended up winning and at first it was the moderate kaiser lead nationalist monarchs who kept the peace but then the Nazis in the late 20s started growing at an accelerating rate.
