During the election, he invited CNN to a briefing about the birther issue. They thought they were gonna catch him saying it was real, and thus discredit him, so they all showed-up with tons of reporters and cameras and streamed it live. The first thing Trump said was that Obama was born in the US. He then proceeded to let a series of military officers give Trump praise for his planned military policies. CNN essentially gave Trump huge press for a bait-and-switch that resulted in millions of normies and leftists seeing a bunch of generals praising Trump.
