At least 1/3 of the questions require you to be delusionally arrogant to be answer affirmatively. And all of them could be retorted with "in what situation"?. How I behave depends largely on the situation. Am I trusting? Depends on the person.
Can I keep my cool in stressful situations? Depends on the situation.
This is why questionnaires like this are garbage. And one of the reasons why I don't take the social sciences very seriously.

What you should expect from people who post on /pol/ is low agreeableness, obviously. Low openness, makes them swing conservative and I imagine, higher Neuroticism makes them worry much more about what is happening politically.

You're seriously arguing with someone this low in Agreeableness? REEE

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3809096/
"Such a view has been used to explain the relationship between specific attitudinal scales and specific personality traits. In research exploring the relationship between these two constructs, the most common personality trait linked to politics has been Openness to Experience and more liberal social/moral issues (Gerber et al. 2010; Jost et al. 2003; McCrae 1996; Mondak and Halperin 2008; Mondak et al. 2010). Specifically, Openness to Experience has been found to be negatively related to a variety of ideological measures, such as conservative political attitudes, right-wing authoritarianism, and social dominance orientation (Adorno et al. 1950; Altemeyer 1996; Carney et al. 2008; Duckitt 1989; Jost et al. 2003; Stenner 2005; Van Hiel, Kossowska, and Mervielde 2000; Van Hiel, Pandelaere, and Duriez 2004). This relationship has been attributed to the “fact” that people who are more open to new experiences are less tied to the conventional ways of doing things, and this “Openness” extends into every facet of a person's life, including political orientations."

There's really not much you can tell from that. You're average in most areas. Slightly lower in Extroversion, which is probably why you are online right now. Average Conscientiousness, which is why you probably aren't working right now, as we speak, lower openness, so more conservative views generally. I guess one surprise is your level of agreeableness, but this isn't a thread that has a lot of fighting or even debate. You have a decent normie personality.
>>
Seriously though, what is the point of this kind of tests. The questions are ambiguous and in case you are taking it for a job or medical reasons you are always going to reply what they want to hear. For example, I had to take one of those for my firearms license and they asked if I agreed an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth, obviously I replied no. If you are aplying a job and they ask you if you are lazy you are obviously going to reply no. What sort of retard came up with this piece garbage?

>>138492250
That piece of garbage, is the most scientific measure of personality every devised, and the five traits are the only personality traits proven to exist independently of each other. It may seem like they are stupid questions, and they are, but when you take the groups of the population and apply a basic personality test, it's insightful in a lot of areas.

As for personality job testing, you're right. People do lie, but idiots have a harder time doing so because they ask you the question in a positive and negative fashion, and that seems to me to smooth out a lot of the people who pretend to have a great personality in all areas. Mostly what they are looking for is high levels of Conscientiousness which has many proven effects on job performance.

Oddly enough, job interviews are heavily correlated to extroversion, so if you think they are better at determining who is better for a job than a personality test, you may be wrong.

Take a closer look at my neuroticism facets, it's anxiety, self-consciousness, and vulnerability. Not depression.

People high in neuroticism, particularly self-consciousness, actually pay attention to how they appear to others and hold a lower view of themselves which allows them to become better people and move forward.

Psychologist verify the results by getting your family members to fill out a personality inventory for you.

You're right though, the questions are very open ended and often they conflict in a few areas. It assumes you are a productive member of society, which will through the NEET's Conscientiousness results off. For example, if I work hard when I need to but don't have a job, and then I answer the questions, I would probably score much lower in Conscientiousness than if I worked a shitty job and didn't give a fuck about it.

>>138493487
It doesn't matter what you think about it, and that you threw your results on purpose. When applied to the general population, it's absurdly useful.

It's plain low agreeableness that is 'asshole mode'. I'd say that Neuroticism would lead to more conflict for people low in agreeableness, and low openness would make you more skeptical of nonsense art and similar things that may also lead to more conflict.

Openness and low conscientiousness seems to be a problem, in my opinion. Hippies were similar in personality.

>>138495082
No, it's not more scientific. You ask them standardized questions, create a bell curve and then give people percentiles. It's the near exact same thing, outside the questions. IQ is also heavily correlated in different topics, but I suppose you can just think it's a bunch of stupid questions that don't matter and ignore the results.

You can also cheat IQ tests, although it's harder to do. This type of scientific study has to assume that people answer the questions truthfully.

Most questions are relative. Have you ever done a Raven's progressive IQ test? It looks like a bunch of autistic stupid patterns which have completely subjective answers, yet they can take the results and learn a lot about how successful people will be in a bunch of areas.

I get what you are saying, but just look into the
Conscientiousness personality trait and studies that show, using these tests, that high levels of conscientiousness have serious effects on life success. They aren't bullshit questions if you can ask them to other people and then predict where they will end up in life.

So? Does that change the argument? You're bragging about your wealth, not how proud you are of what you did to make it, so how is that different from the people who didnt earn it. You arent proud of how you earned it, you're proud of the fact you have it.

And you most certainly did imply euros were "better" in that they "didnt show off their wealth" which is patently fucking false, as you cannot explain F1. F1 is your personal international extravagant display of wealth. America has NASCAR, the rich people at that shit come in MOTORHOMES not YACHTS ffs.

I don't know you, maybe it's really wrong, but I guess it's not about so much what you do but why and how you do it. Here's a quote from wiki:
>The problems associated with low openness are difficulties adapting to change, low tolerance for different worldview or lifestyles, emotional flattening, alexithymia and a narrow range of interests.
>Rigidity is the most obvious aspect of (low) openness among personality disorders and that shows lack of knowledge of one's emotional experiences. It is most characteristic of obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.

Actually, IQ seems to be heavily related to working memory and processing speed, which is probably the most true definition of intelligence. A lot of the other forms of intelligence that people list, can be measures of big five personalities, for example, emotional 'intelligence'. Emotional 'intelligence' is basically just agreeableness. Social 'intelligence' would be Extroversion, 'musical and art intelligence' would be openness and such.

The thing is IQ tests, is that they apply across other IQ tests. As long as it's a fluid IQ test, which is the only real IQ test in my opinion, because the other ones rely on knowledge which is definitely cultural, someone scoring high on one test is very probable to score high on the rest of them. You can say the same thing about personality testing. There's thousands of questions, which when sampled randomly, should show similar results to whatever someone scored on this test.

Anyway, if someone discounts both IQ tests and personality tests, there's no non-subjective way to try to figure out what someone is like. It's a very useful tool that goes beyond stupid questions.

>>138498986
The problem is that it's the most broad personality trait. It's not just that you enjoy abstract ideas more, it's that you enjoy new experiences and other things that less open people don't find any meaning to. That is most of the trait. I guess you would have to take a real test and look into the subcategories of openness if you really wanted to figure it out, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone that reviews art would be a good example of high openness, low agreeableness.

Same. I'm open in that I love intellectual discussions, ideas, and love music, not open in that I'm some liberal hipster that drinks Starbucks lattes with sriracha and likes eating Thai and is an unironic Buddhist.

I know, this was my whole initial point. I was originally arguing Psychology should not be considered science because the definition of science is it must be objective and Psychology is clearly not objective. Wether this tests are useful or not depends on the type of test and how, by who, and for what purpouse are they used obviously.

>>138501198
the way i see it, if you're medium or high in openness, you're guaranteed to grow into racism.
no better cure for delusion than extensive contact with the subject matter.
>>
>>138501814
As far as I understand openness means being interested in big ideas and philosophical discussions as opposed to down to earth scientific discussions. And if you're interested in those big abstract ideas, you're probably also into art and culture. You say you're not into Buddhism, but you probably mean that you wouldn't become a Buddhist to virtue signal, however you would be interested in learning more about Buddhism. That makes you high on Openness.
By the way Jordan Peterson talks about big 5 a lot, those lectures are fun.

Then it's a subjective distinction of what science is. I wouldn't argue that it's like math or natural science, but whole areas of psychology do apply scientific principles and their results of studies are not any less scientific than studies in other areas. It's, in my opinion, a soft science that you don't get to discount because you don't like how the results were gathered.
