In general the things we put out are pretty informed because the studio is shit-scared of lawsuits even though they're confident that if something does come up where information was incorrect it is usually after the fact and show had aired, they can deal with it legally. Whenever the substance of material is a little thin, it is made sure that he spends more time making really lame reddit tier jokes, showing off cute animals, or making unparalleled comparisons and social commentary. Carefully crafted and spread throughout an episode this can easily eat up ~1/3 of an episode. The way the formula of the show is set up it's pretty hard to mess up since all episodes play out the same way. There have been people let go because some of the things they submit as drafts are more on the conservative point of view and some higher ups get steamed because it isn't part of their "Grand Narrative" so to speak.
