You will be fine looking at it. Even if it burns a lil that is the soda effect. Like when you take a big drink of soda it burns a bit, and does not really cause damage.

Yes, you can also use:
- weld googles, welding mask or anything similar
- old floppy discs
- some strong sunglasses offer some protection too

Without protection you can look too, but looking for more than minute can mess up your sight, so looking for several seconds with some rest in between won't hurt too bad. Just remember to not stare too long and to make eye your eyes rest

when it goes total you can look at it all you like. When it's only partial you're just staring at a less-bright sun, which is still very bright

You can view it if you'd like just not for a long time, it's like looking st the sun for a second it's okay your vision will just be fucked up for a second but the longer you look the longer and more fucked up your vision is gonna be
