My Dad fought in WWII. Signed up at 18 to head straight into hell, unlike the 18 year olds of today, who need special therapy and help to cope with mean words.

As it was, he had horrible nightmares for the rest of his life from the things he saw as a front line medic, and he did tell me more than once that the war should never have been fought at all, that it wasn't worth it, that Hitler wasn't that bad and that we should have worked harder for a different solution.
