Well /pol/...was the war about slavery?
>>138264325
It was about various things including slavery.
>>138264325
It was one of the issues. The south had an interest in maintaining it
>>138264325
it was about whether jews have the right to own slaves. nazi northerners sent potato niggers to rape and murder jewish landowners and they were forced to use the local white populations to defend themselves.
>>138264325
It was about states rights, with slavery being the main issue affecting states rights. Nobody was threatening to take the South's slaves away before the war. The emancipation proclamation came during the war to fuck up the South's economy.
>>138264325
The war was about the States' rights to maintain slavery
>>138264702
So what was it that the south was trying to protect? Obviously the north was trying to infringe upon something for the south to declare states rights?
>>138264325
Yeah it was.
They try to weasel out of any accountability for being a piece of shit by saying things like OPs pick, but the fact is, they didn't start attacking until the emancipation proclamation.
The south just started something they couldn't finish, over a cause that was simply a morally abhorrent excuse to not modernize their economy in the scientific age
>>138264325
It was the biggest issue but not the only one like people tend to think.
>>138264325
Why don't you actually read the reasons stated by the confederate states themselves?
https://www.civilwar.org/learn/primary-sources/declaration-causes-seceding-states
HINT: It was primarily about slavery
>>138264325
The Union simply had everything to lose if another nation aronse on the continent. No Union soliders died to ensure that slaves and their descendants would be fully-fledged Americans, The didn't die by the thousands so that Negroes could become governors, senators and presidents. The notion that the Civil War was about the legal rights of former slaves is blatant revisionist bullshit.
>>138264325
Im evolved.
>>138264325
The war was about killing niggers
>>138264325
your pic is pretty much correct, except the bottom part should be "The Civil War was about the expansion of slavery" instead of just slavery
Abraham Lincoln campaigned on stopping slavery from moving into any new states, but he never stated that he intended to remove slavery before the Emancipation Proclamation which was issued almost 2 years into the Civil War.
>>138264936
The federal government was dictating which new states were slave states or free states, that was the big issue. A few states like South Carolina seceded over the issue, and then later other states like North Carolina seceded not over the slavery issue, but because the union declared war on states that seceded.
slaveholder's rebellion > secession war > civil war >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> war of northern aggression
