I'm Welsh, from West Wales in fact, the part of wales which is considered the poorest.

And yet it's a lovely place, the food is cheap, the houses are cheap, Carmarthen is the oldest town in the country and is a lovely place.

We don't FEEL poor but by all metrics we should be grubbing around in the filth, so I can only imagine that everyone else wears gold-plated underwear and wipes their arses with twenties.

Not welsh, but also from a "shit" area of the UK. And it really isn't shit at all. I have the countryside, I have space, I live in a house rather than a flat, still have my pubs, I see my family a lot as well as my childhood friends and basically have everything a typical person both needs and wants.

What exactly am I missing out on compared to living in London? Culture? Like vapid and overpriced nightclubs? Modern "art" galleries? Cereal restaurants? For all Londoners boast they seem to be getting a lot less for all their wealth.
