What is /pol/'s opinion on a Federal Europe?

I'd be ok with it, but only if it would apply a sort of direct democracy similar to Switzerland, where every single federal law can be put into question and brought to a binding federal referendum. This would be essential so that this can not become another demoralization campaign through the breakup of the nation-states.
